Sleep, Affective Neuroscience, and Development Lab
Welcome to the Sleep, Affective Neuroscience, and Development (SAND) Laboratory in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh! This lab is directed by Dr. Adriane Soehner. Our studies primarily focus on the role of sleep-circadian rhythms in brain development and mood regulation over adolescence and young adulthood.

RAM
The RAM study investigates how our energy level, sleep, and daily activity rhythms impact our mood in the long-term. We are recruiting: 16-24 year olds.
DAYLight
The DAYLight study is being conducted to test the effects of bright light on mood and circadian function. We are recruiting: 18-30 year olds with depression.
LEAP2
The LEAP2 study investigates how light therapy can help us adjust to jet lag. We are recruiting: 18-30 year old males.
CARRS
The CARRS study investigates how sleep timing and duration affects teens’ thinking, mood, and behavior. We are recruiting: healthy 13-15 year olds.
