Neuroimaging and Pediatric Sleep (NAPS) Databank

Primary Investigators: Maria Jalbrzikowski, PhD & Adriane Soehner, PhD

The NAPS databank initiative is comprised of harmonized sleep actigraphy and structural MRI data from multiple University of Pittsburgh Studies, along with standard demographic and clinical information when available.

Sleep estimation from wrist actigraphy was performed using a combination of age-appropriate brand-specific sleep estimation algorithms and standardized visual editing procedures. Quality assurance procedures were implemented using in-house R scripts. Visual editing and quality control procedures were based on existing protocols and recommendations (e.g.,Acebo et al., 1999Chow et al., 2016Blackwell et al., 2011;Patel et al., 2015Kanady et al., 2011Meltzer et al., 2012).

Structural MRI data were processed in FreeSurfer v6 to obtain regional cortical thickness, cortical surface area, and subcortical volume estimates. Quality assurance procedures were based on protocols developed by the ENIGMA Consortium (http://enigma.ini.usc.edu/protocols/imaging-protocols/).

At this stage, NAPS data are only available to the research teams who have contributed data with approval of a data request by affiliated investigators.

If you are a University of Pittsburgh Researcher wishing to contribute a sleep and MRI dataset to the NAPS databank, please email sleepneuro@upmc.edu.
