CGX PATCH
In some of our studies like SleepChart and PPSN, participants will wear a CGX Patch while they sleep to track their sleep stages, brain waves, and heart rate.
CGX PATCH PARTICIPANT INSTRUCTIONS:
Make sure your device is fully charged
Plug in the device using the included charging cord. Above the button, you should see a white light. If the light is solid and not blinking, then the device is fully charged and ready for use. If the light is blinking, leave the device plugged in until the light is solid.
Wipe Forehead with Alcohol Wipe
Before placing the CGX patch device on your forehead, make sure to wipe the area down with an alcohol wipe. This ensures that no oil or dirt will prevent the electrode patch from sticking to your skin. Make sure to wait 10 seconds after wiping to ensure your skin is dry. Wet skin will prevent the adhesive from sticking. Alcohol wipes are included in the CGX box.
Attach Electrode Patch to Device
Open up new CGX Hydroflex electrode package located in the CGX device box. Snap the electrodes on the patch into place on the CGX device. Do not remove the adhesive backing yet.
Place Device on forehead
Utilize a mirror to ensure proper placement of the CGX device (see reference image to the right). Make sure to place the device centered on your forehead. The device should be located between your eyebrows and hairline. Make sure hair is pushed back away from your forehead.
Turn on Device
At this point, turn on the device. In order to turn on the device, press and hold the CGX button until you see the steady white light. This will begin the recording
Sleep
Once you have ensured that the device is properly placed and turned on, enjoy your sleep!
Stop Recording
After waking up, make sure to press and hold the button until the light has fully turned off. This will end the recording. Make sure to plug the device in so that it is fully charged for the next night of sleep. You may now remove the device from your forehead and discard the hydroflex electrode patch by removing it from the device.
